About the project
A ranking you can buy your way up.
Back in 2005, a student sold a million pixels on a single web page for a dollar each, and people lined up to own a piece of it. Who Spent Most is the same idea pointed at a leaderboard. Anyone with an account can put their name on it. Where you land depends only on how much you've spent.
How the ranking works
- Every purchase adds to your total. Buy more than once and your amounts stack under your account.
- Highest total ranks first. Nothing else moves you up or down.
- Ties go to whoever got there first. To pass someone, you need at least one dollar more than they have.
- There's an all-time list and a monthly list. The monthly list resets at midnight Eastern on the 1st of every month. Your all-time total never resets.
What you're paying for
You're buying a spot on the list. It isn't a donation and it isn't tax deductible. All sales are final and there are no refunds. Filing a chargeback gets your account and your entries permanently removed from the site.
What you can put on the list
- A name up to 32 characters and an optional message up to 80. Text and emoji only, no links.
- You can show up as Anonymous. Your rank and amount still count.
- Hate speech, slurs, and harassment are blocked. Entries that slip through can be reported with the flag next to each name, and moderators remove anything that breaks the rules. Removed entries aren't refunded.
Your privacy
Your display name, message, and amounts are public. Your email and payment details never are, and card payments are handled by Stripe. Read the full Privacy Policy.
What's coming
More lists, starting with lists for businesses, where companies compete for the top spot in their industry.
